Your Child Was Just Diagnosed With ADHD.
Now What?
You may feel relieved, overwhelmed, worried—or all three before breakfast. I know I did.
Before you disappear down the Google rabbit hole, this practical guide helps you decide what actually deserves your attention this week.
You'll learn how to understand your child's ADHD instead of the version you've seen in movies, where to start at home and at school, how coaching, therapy, school accommodations, and medication fit together, and what can safely wait while your family finds its footing.
No jargon. No overwhelming 200-page binder. No pressure to figure out your child's entire future today. Just clear, manageable next steps for you and your family. Basically, it's the sanity saver I needed when my daughter got diagnosed!
A Little About Me
Hi, I’m Dana.
I’m an ADHD and anxiety coach who works with parents, teens, and young adults—and I’m also a parent who has sat in that post-diagnosis fog, trying to make sense of what was happening, what to expect, and what to do next. What do you do when your kid melts down over homework or a change in plans? How do you keep your cool when you’ve already asked them to do something five times or... whatever? The parenting strategies I used with my son were not working for my daughter. And there wasn't a "me"--no parent coaches at the time. So I became one.
For over a decade, I have been helping parents understand and navigate their child's ADHD.
It starts with us. We look at what’s really going on behind difficult behavior and what's the most effective way of handling it. We build practical skills and make small shifts that move you from constant conflict and second-guessing toward more confidence and connection. You and your child are set up for success, compassion, and independence.
My work has appeared in publications including ADDitude, HuffPost, Grown & Flown, YourTeen, and The Mighty.
This sanity-saving guide is the resource I wish someone had handed me when they gave us the diagnosis.
